Admission

At ASEM, doctoral programs are offered both on a budget-funded basis (based on the grant awarded) and on a fee-paying basis; in full-time (3 years) and part-time (4 years) formats.
Eligible applicants for the admission competition are holders of a master’s degree or higher education diploma (issued under pre-Bologna programs) with a cumulative GPA of no less than 8.0. Candidates may apply to only one doctoral program.

Doctoral programs offered: Economic theory and policy; World economy and international relations; Economics and management; Marketing and logistics; Finance; Accounting and auditing; Economic statistics; Economic and social geography.

Application file: To apply for the doctoral program, the candidate must submit the application file as follows:

  1. Application form.
  2. Academic transcripts (bachelor’s and master’s degrees), originals and copies, with the corresponding supplements.
  3. Scientific paper on the topic of the selected specialization (7–10 pages in length), or copies of scientific papers published in the last 5 years (at least 2).
  4. Recommendations from two specialists with academic titles in the field or an extract from the minutes of the Master’s School Council meeting.
  5. Europass Curriculum Vitae.
  6. Copy of ID card (for foreign citizens, a copy of the passport).
  7. 3 passport-sized photos (3×4 cm).
  8. Questionnaire for doctoral program applicants
  9. Affidavit stating that the applicant has not previously received a state-funded position
  10. Consent form regarding the processing of personal data.

Documents 1, 8, 9, and 10 are to be completed at the Doctoral School

Once the application period has ended, the scientific specialty and form of study cannot be changed!
The recognition of academic credentials obtained in countries other than the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and EU member states falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova.

Admission and doctoral study requirements for foreign nationals and stateless persons are the same as for citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

Admission Exams: Admission to the doctoral program is based on two exams:

  1. English language proficiency.
  2. Scientific paper on a topic related to the selected doctoral program.
Tuition fees for self-funded doctoral students:
  • for citizens of the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine 18,800 lei annually,
  • for foreign citizens (excluding Romania and Ukraine), the fee is double + 100 euros for application processing fees.
