Doctoral studies conclude with the public defense of the doctoral dissertation and the conferral of the academic degree of Doctor.
The doctoral dissertation is an original scientific work that addresses a current scientific problem of significance to the respective field of study. The doctoral student is the author of the doctoral dissertation and assumes responsibility for citing sources for any material used, for the accuracy of the data and information presented in the dissertation, as well as for the opinions and arguments expressed. The doctoral advisor is jointly responsible with the author of the dissertation for ensuring compliance with quality standards and professional ethics, including the originality of the content.
The doctoral thesis is accompanied by an abstract, written in Romanian and English, which contains the conceptual framework of the research, the main ideas and conclusions of the thesis, and identifies the scientific novelty and significance of the results obtained.
The doctoral thesis is based on a minimum of 5 scientific publications registered in international, national, and institutional electronic repositories, of which:
It is a mandatory requirement that at least one publication list the doctoral student as the first author or sole author.
The doctoral dissertation is written in Romanian. Upon a justified request, the dissertation may also be written in another internationally recognized language (English, French, Russian). In this case, it is mandatory to provide an abstract in Romanian as well.
